Description

The Cometic Gasket C5456-036 is a Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) cylinder head gasket designed for Chrysler LA small-block V8 engines. This gasket features a compressed operating thickness of 0.036 inches and a 4.180-inch bore. It is constructed with multiple embossed layers of stainless steel and an outer Viton rubber coating.

These MLS gaskets are ideal for use with aluminum heads to aluminum blocks or aluminum heads to cast iron blocks, as they can withstand the shearing forces created. The design includes load-controlled embossments to help conform load distribution across the sealing area and, where applicable, valve pocketing to avoid chamber interference. This gasket does not require additional sealers.
