The engine is constructed with a cast aluminum block featuring 6-bolt nodular iron main bearing caps, a forged steel crankshaft, and eutectic pistons. The cylinder heads are aluminum with a rectangular port design. The LT1 is available with a wet-sump oiling system and is internally balanced.\n\nThis assembly does not include electronics, and requires the LT1 Controller Kit (P\/N 19368831) for operation, which includes an electronic throttle pedal. A Front-End Accessory Drive Kit (P\/N 19329990) can be ordered separately. The engine is shipped with a high-pressure Direct-Injection fuel pump and a 14-inch flexplate.
