Each caliper weighs just over 7 lbs and includes machined protection grooves for bridge tubes, aluminum pistons, high-temperature seals, titanium brake pad retainer clips, and stainless-steel brake pad wear plates. The opposed piston design enhances pad wear and caliper rigidity, while D.O.T. compliant stainless-steel braided brake lines improve pedal feel and response by preventing expansion under pressure. Due to the SuperComp caliper's size, each caliper utilizes four brake pads.\n\nThe SuperComp systems come standard with a 2-piece floating disc assembly, which reduces both rotating and unsprung weight. This floating disc design mitigates thermal stresses caused by extreme heat, preventing warping and cupping of the braking surface. The unique slot design on the rotor reduces braking noise and expedites the expulsion of gas and pad debris. Rotors are heat-treated and balanced before shipment. Cross-drilled rotors are recommended for daily-driven vehicles as they tend to run cooler than slotted rotors, while slotted rotors are suggested for more frequent track use.
