The Mahle Original 42289CP is a premium piston ring set designed for installer-friendliness. These rings are pre-lapped to ensure immediate seating and virtually eliminate break-in time. The set features optimized ring materials, coatings, and tension for reduced friction and extended life.

The top compression ring is made of stainless steel with a gas-nitrided facing, measuring 1.2mm. The second ring is ductile iron, also 1.2mm, and designed with a reverse twist for better groove sealing. The CP-20 oil ring assembly has a 2.0mm thickness and features a 20-degree ear angle for a superior side seal.
