Description

The ThermoMaster™ Power Chip is designed to be used with a 160° or 180° thermostat. It is a direct replacement for stock chips in 1989 Pontiac Firebird or Chevy Camaro with a 305 TPI Automatic Transmission. The Power Chip contains Hypertech Power Tuning data that controls the engine's air/fuel ratio and spark advance for maximum power and performance, and potential gas mileage improvements. It can be installed easily using only hand tools. Hypertech created the original Power Chip for 1981-1995 GM automotive computers that used replaceable PROMs or chips to calibrate the Electronic Control Module (ECM) for specific engine, powertrain, and vehicle combinations.
