02M/02Q DOG 6-Speed Gear Kit

The SQS Racing Gear Kit is a high-performance racing component designed for Volkswagen 02M/02Q series transmissions, part of Knobgear's specialized gearbox equipment lineup. This 6-speed DOG configuration is engineered for precision and speed, enhancing the driving experience for racing applications. This gear kit is specifically tailored for the MQ350 line (also known as 02Q-02M gearboxes), which are found in various Volkswagen, Audi, and Seat models such as the Golf, Passat, Octavia, Leon, A3, and Toledo, typically equipped with turbo engines, TDI, or V6 configurations, spanning from approximately the year 2000 to the present (Mk4-Mk7 generations). The kit offers two ratio set versions: BOOST and LONG, allowing for customization based on racing needs. It includes modified ratios for gears 3°, 4°, 5°, and 6° to improve acceleration and provides stronger teeth for higher torque handling. The 1° and 2° gears utilize original components, including the inlet shaft. The kit is compatible with all available original Final Drives. Note that the kit requires the user to provide four original gears with synchro cones; alternatively, a €200 surcharge will apply. The condition of the synchro cone surface and needle bearing surface is crucial, though gear teeth damage is not a concern. SQS Racing designs these kits for maximum strength within the dimensional limits of the casing. While 02Q gearboxes have been successfully used with over 600 Nm of torque, these racing-focused gearkits prioritize strength and high power/torque handling over long-term street durability. Extended use in street conditions, even with lower power, may lead to wear on the gear teeth surfaces.
