02M/02Q Short Shift Kit

The CTS Turbo 02M/02Q Short Shift Kit is engineered to enhance the driving experience in 6-speed manual transmissions. This kit allows for adjustable throw reduction, ranging from 20% to 35%, which significantly improves the feel of gear shifts, making them more positive and precise. Importantly, it does not reduce the side-to-side movement of the shifter, ensuring familiar shift patterns and minimizing the chance of miss shifts. Crafted with precision, the kit is CNC-machined in-house from solid billet T6061 aluminum and features a durable, corrosion-resistant black anodized finish. To ensure long-term functionality, the gear selector insert is made of steel, preventing stripping. The kit comes with two metal shifter rods, making it adaptable to a variety of vehicles. Installation is straightforward and can be accomplished with basic hand tools, though careful torqueing of the mounting nut to 25 ft-lbs is recommended. The kit is designed to fit 02M/02Q shifter units and is compatible with a wide range of Volkswagen and Audi models, including various generations of the Golf, GTI, GLI, R, TT, and A3, across multiple engine options from 1.8T and 2.0T to VR6 and TDI. A special note indicates that early Mk1 TT models may require an updated shifter catch, which is available separately.
