The Ironman 4x4 IM2.5 Monotube suspension series offers a 30% weight reduction over a twin-tube steel shock absorber due to its aircraft-grade 6061-T6 Aluminium construction. This material also improves cooling, allowing the shock absorber to perform consistently for longer, as aluminium has 4 times the thermal conductivity of steel. The kit features a CNC ported billet aluminium piston with an O-Ring sealed PTFE-Teflon band for fine-tuned dampening. A billet aluminium Internal Floating Piston (IFP) with class-leading NOK seals separates the high-pressure 200PSI nitrogen gas from the Fuchs hydraulic oil. The monotube shock absorber tube has a wall thickness ranging from 3-4mm and is finished with ultra-thick and durable Type 2 anodizing for ultimate protection. The monotube technology allows for an "upside down" mounting, keeping the monotube body mounted high and away from rocks and debris, with a 20mm hardened steel piston rod that is downward yet protected by a robust dirt shield.
