Most JE Piston and Nickies cylinder sets are in stock for immediate delivery; custom JE Pistons typically require 4-6 weeks for production, however rush service is available. Whether you order an off-the-shelf or custom piston from LN Engineering for your Volkswagen or Porsche engine, all our JE Pistons are machined from forged 2618 alloy for greater strength. JE’s revised line of shelf Porsche 911 pistons for all aircooled models from 2.0 to 3.6 liters are based off original LN piston designs and are optimized for use with LN Engineering Nickies cylinders. JE’s shelf pistons for aircooled Porsche 911 engines are machined to accommodate high lift cams, larger valve sizes, and feature 3D under-crown milling to remove excess weight from each piston. All JE Pistons sold by LN Engineering also include sacrificial skirt coatings that allow engine to find their optimal clearance while reducing frictional losses. JE Pistons are optimized for use with aluminum Nikasil or NSC-plated cylinders including our Nickies cylinders and Nickies sleeves, allowing for optimal piston to cylinder clearance for quiet operation and excellent longevity suitable for both street and race engines. Porsche and VW engines fitted with steel/iron cylinders or sleeves will require additional clearance. LN Engineering JE Piston sets include Nikasil compatible modern piston rings, upgraded lightweight wrist pins, and wrist pin clips. In addition to optional piston coatings and special machining, all JE Piston sets can be upgraded to include custom gas ported top rings and gapless second piston rings from Total Seal for Porsche engines.
