The Racing Beat sway bar kit is engineered to significantly improve the handling characteristics of the 1990-2005 Mazda MX5 Miata. Constructed from tubular steel with a 1.125-inch outer diameter and a 3/16-inch wall thickness, this component is designed for enhanced performance, particularly for autocross and track applications. The kit includes the necessary center pivot bushings and brackets for a direct fit. Racing Beat provides an optional "Brace Hardware" kit, which consists of two aluminum blocks. The sway bar recommendations vary based on intended use and tire type. For street driving with medium to hard tires (above 240 treadwear), specific front bars paired with stock rear bars are suggested. For dual-duty (autocross/track) use with stickier tires (below 201 treadwear) and higher spring rates, different front bars, often with a 14mm rear bar, are recommended. For dedicated race applications with very high-performance tires and stiffer springs, even more aggressive front bar options are available. For the SCCA STS class, a specific front bar with either a stock or no rear bar is advised. Note that these recommendations assume a ride height around 5 inches at the pinch welds or lower. When selecting components, consult the detailed application guide for specific part numbers and compatibility with different Miata models (NA6, NA8, NB) and spring rates.
