1-5/8 Inch Primary Long Tube Headers

The Hedman Hedders 68440 are standard uncoated long tube headers, precisely crafted from mild steel using CNC mandrel bent tubes and hand-welded for uniformity. Designed for Small Block Chevy (Gen 1) engines, these headers feature 1-5/8 inch primary tubes and a 3-inch collector. Hedman's innovative gasketless ball and socket collector design simplifies exhaust system alignment, accommodating minor misalignments. This header set is specifically engineered to fit 1984-1991 Chevy Corvettes equipped with 283-400 cubic inch SB Chevy engines, aiming to maximize horsepower and torque by allowing the engine to breathe more freely. The uncoated headers are shipped with a temporary black paint that will burn off during operation. Optional silver or black ceramic-metallic finishes are available for enhanced protection and reduced underhood temperatures. Installation hardware, including header flange bolts and collector bolts, is included. A pair of gaskets are also provided, and no collector gasket is necessary due to the ball and socket collector design.
