The BBK Performance 1516 is a set of long tube exhaust headers designed for 1979-1993 Ford Mustang 5.0L models.

Constructed from 1-5/8" CNC-machined mandrel bent tubing with 3/8" thick die-stamped flanges, these headers feature a titanium ceramic coated finish for durability and heat management.

The BBK Performance 1516 long tube exhaust headers are engineered to extract maximum performance and improve exhaust flow for 1979-1993 Ford Mustang 5.0L vehicles. These headers are constructed from 1-5/8" CNC-machined mandrel bent tubing with robust 3/8" thick die-stamped flanges, designed for unrestricted and balanced airflow. The titanium ceramic coating not only enhances durability but also helps to reduce underhood temperatures, contributing to improved power output and a deeper exhaust note. The full-length primary tube design is intended to deliver significant horsepower and torque gains, with the manufacturer claiming a 15-20 horsepower increase. Vehicle fitment is specific: these headers are for 1979-1993 Mustang 5.0L models. Early 79-85 models will require a double hump cross member. Crucially, these headers fit manual transmissions only and do not fit AOD/E automatic transmissions; for automatic transmissions, Part #1531 or #15310 should be used instead. Additionally, O2 wire harness extensions (Part #1676) are recommended for installation but are not included. This product is intended for closed course competition race use only and is not legal for sale or use on emissions-legal street vehicles in California or states adopting its regulations.
