1-5/8" Long Tube Headers Rectangular Port

The Hooker H8403-1 long tube headers are engineered to enhance the performance of 1964-1973 Ford Mustang Small Block engines. The primary tubing diameter is 1.625 inches, with a rectangular port shape and a 3-inch collector port diameter, all constructed from robust 18-gauge steel. Featuring a metallic ceramic coating, these headers create a thermal barrier that significantly lowers under-hood temperatures, protecting the substrate metal from thermal fatigue. The coating is then polished to a high-luster aluminum appearance, resulting in a surface that is harder and 60% more corrosion resistant than unpolished surfaces. Gaskets and mounting hardware are included for installation. They are compatible with various transmissions including C6, T5 (cable, hydraulic, or stock Z bar clutch actuation), but will NOT fit with AOD transmissions. For power steering equipped cars, bracket H7609 is required. It is important to note that these headers will not fit GT40 "P" heads. The applications are based on original engine and cylinder head port centerlines; raised port cylinder heads may cause installation issues.
