The Kaaz 1.5 Way Limited Slip Differential is a high-performance component built for the Mazda MX-5 NA (Mk1) 1.8 and all NB (Mk2) models. Known for its ruggedness and reliability within the motorsport community, this differential enhances traction and handling. This differential utilizes a plate-type system with friction plates that effectively lock the rear axle under load. The locking action is controlled by a cross pin and ramp rings, forcing the plates together to act like a clutch. The 1.5-way design offers a balance between acceleration and deceleration locking, with a 25/50 ramp angle configuration providing more frequent locking under acceleration due to its shallower ramp angle. This configuration is ideal for drivers seeking improved performance during spirited driving and track use. Kaaz offers this differential in two versions: standard and the SuperQ unit. Importantly, SuperQ units do not require a break-in period. Specifications for this differential include a torque range of 5.5-8.5 Kg/m, a ramp angle of 25/45, and two cone springs. The kit includes the Kaaz differential and Kaaz oil.
