1.6L Cold Air Intake System

The AEM Induction 21-721C cold air intake system is designed to enhance the performance of specific 2011-2013 Mini Cooper S, S Clubman, and John Cooper Works models equipped with a 1.6L engine. This system replaces the restrictive factory air filter and intake housing to promote increased horsepower and acceleration. The intake tubing is constructed from mandrel-bent aluminum with a durable black powder-coated finish, ensuring longevity and a sleek appearance under the hood. At the heart of the system is an oversized AEM Dryflow synthetic washable air filter, which offers outstanding airflow and filtration without requiring oil. This filter is designed to last up to 100,000 miles before cleaning is needed, depending on driving conditions. The system includes a replacement air box with a fully-opened hood scoop, aimed at reducing intake air temperature and further boosting performance. The design also accommodates the engine's factory emissions control devices, including the mass air flow sensor and vacuum line port. This AEM cold air intake system is dyno-tested and has been shown to provide an estimated 6 HP gain at 5650 RPM. The intake pipe is made from high-density cross-linked polyethylene, contributing to its robust construction.
