The Honda B16A is a legendary 1.6-liter inline 4-cylinder DOHC engine that was among the first to utilize VTEC technology. This naturally aspirated powerplant offers a displacement of 1595 cc with a bore and stroke measuring 81 mm x 77.4 mm, contributing to its efficient performance. With a compression ratio of 10.4:1, the B16A is designed for enthusiastic driving. Its VTEC system engages at 5,500rpm, progressively increasing power output, while the engine is rated to produce 160 PS (118 kW; 158 hp) and 16 kg·m of torque at 7,300 RPM. The engine features a redline of 8,000rpm and a rev limiter set at 8,200rpm, allowing for high-RPM operation. This engine has a significant history in tuning and performance applications. It was notably found in models like the 1989-1993 Honda Integra XSi. The B16A is recognized as Honda's first engine to achieve 100hp per liter.
