The Integrated Engineering IECVA1-1 Race Exhaust Camshaft is engineered for high-performance VW and Audi 1.8T 20V engines, specifically those with larger aftermarket turbocharger builds targeting the 500-850+ horsepower range. This aggressive camshaft, when paired with the IE IECVA1-2 Race Intake Camshaft, delivers an optimal powerband from 5500 RPM to 8500+ RPM. Technical specifications include a 267-degree advertised duration, 218 degrees duration at 0.050 inches lift, 0.403 inches of lift, and a 108 centerline angle (CLA). Installation is designed to be straightforward for the 1.8T 20V (06A & 058) engines, with a pre-set cam sprocket and a factory-style timing mark simplifying the process. However, due to the increased demands of larger turbos and aggressive camshaft profiles, upgrading the valve springs and retainers is highly recommended to ensure optimal valvetrain harmonics, safe revving, and longevity. The IE 1.8T 20V Valve Spring & Retainer Kit is suggested for best results. This camshaft is intended for race use due to its aggressive profile, which can result in a lopey idle. It is designed to work with either the IE IECVA1-2 Race Intake Camshaft or the IECVA2-2 Street/Race Intake Camshaft.
