1.8T 20V Transverse Intake Manifold

The Integrated Engineering 1.8T Transverse Intake Manifold is a motorsport-derived upgrade designed to significantly enhance power and torque across the entire RPM range for transverse 1.8T 20V engines. Unlike factory manifolds, this performance design optimizes runner lengths, diameters, and bellmouths, coupled with computer-aided plenum and runner design, to maximize airflow into the cylinders. This specialized engineering can yield gains of over 90 horsepower. It provides an optimal balance of power gains while minimizing the sacrifice in spool time and low-end power, typically resulting in very little added turbo lag compared to similar manifolds. The modular plenum design allows the throttle body to be installed on either side, offering flexibility for various turbo setups and minor modifications to engine bay components. The manifold is cast from a special self-aging, self-hardening alloy and machined in the USA to ensure a perfect fit and finish. This intake manifold includes the IE micro vacuum manifold at no extra charge, providing necessary vacuum sources for accessories like blow-off valves, boost gauges, and fuel pressure regulators, promoting a clean installation. For maximum performance, tuning is recommended, especially when upgrading to a larger throttle body. Installation on small port cylinder heads requires an IE phenolic large port to small port adapter kit (IEBAVA16). Fitment includes Audi TT (2000-2006 MK1 8N), Audi A3/S3 (1996-2003 MK1 8L), VW Golf/GTI/Jetta/GLI (1999-2005 MK4), and VW Beetle (1998-2011 1C/9C/1Y), all with the 1.8T 20V engine. Note that fitment may require modifications such as windshield washer fluid reservoir relocation and custom intercooler piping fabrication due to limited engine bay space.
