1.8T 20V Transverse Intake Manifold

The IE Engineering 1.8T Transverse Intake Manifold is a motorsport-designed component aimed at unlocking significant power potential for transverse 1.8T 20V engines, especially those utilizing larger-than-stock turbochargers. Engineered with a focus on optimizing airflow, this intake manifold features precisely tuned runner lengths, diameters, and bellmouths, along with a plenum designed using computer software for maximum flow. It is claimed to deliver market-leading power and torque gains, with dyno-tested results showing over 90HP increases on specific setups. The design aims to provide optimal balance, minimizing turbo lag while maximizing mid-to-high RPM power. The manifold's modular plenum design allows the throttle body to be installed on either side, facilitating easier installation on various turbo setups with minor modifications. It is constructed from a special self-aging, self-hardening alloy and is cast and machined in the USA. The product also includes an IE micro vacuum manifold for a clean and organized solution for vacuum sources. Fitment includes Audi TT (2000-2006 MK1 - 8N) 1.8T 20V, Audi A3/S3 (1996-2003 MK1 - 8L) 1.8T 20V, VW Golf/GTI/Jetta/Jetta GLI (1999-2005 MK4) 1.8T 20V, and VW Beetle (1998-2011 1C - 9C - 1Y) 1.8T 20V. *Fitment may require modification to engine bay components, such as windshield washer fluid reservoir relocation or custom intercooler piping fabrication due to limited space. Installation onto a small port cylinder head requires the IEBAVA16 phenolic large port to small port adapter kit. For maximum performance, tuning is recommended, especially when upgrading to a larger throttle body. This part is not currently legal for road use in California due to emissions regulations.
