1.8T Transverse Intake Manifold

The IE Engineering 1.8T Transverse Intake Manifold is a true motorsport-designed component engineered to replace restrictive factory manifolds in transverse 1.8T 20V engines. The design features optimized runner lengths, diameters, and bellmouths, along with a computer-optimized plenum, to "ram" more air into the cylinders. This specialized engineering results in a manifold capable of over 90HP gains, as evidenced by dyno testing on a 2.0L stroker engine with a PTE 5858 Turbocharger. The manifold also aims to reduce turbocharger lag by balancing power gains with minimal spool time sacrifice. Installation flexibility is enhanced by a modular plenum design, allowing the throttle body to be installed on either side of the engine bay with minor modifications for various turbo setups. The manifold is constructed from a special self-aging, self-hardening alloy and machined in the USA for a precise fit, finish, and durability. It includes the IE micro vacuum manifold for a clean and organized routing of vacuum lines. Fitment includes Audi TT (2000-2006, MK1 - 8N), Audi A3/S3 (1996-2003, MK1 - 8L), VW Golf/GTI/Jetta/Jetta GLI (1999-2005, MK4), and VW Beetle (1998-2011). However, fitment may require modification to engine bay components, such as windshield washer fluid reservoir relocation and custom intercooler piping. For installation on small port cylinder heads, an IE phenolic large port to small port adapter kit (IEBAVA16) is recommended. Tuning is recommended for maximum performance, especially when upgrading to a larger throttle body.
