The Kerma TDI 1.9 TDI Piston Set provides a standard size replacement for four OEM VW pistons, specifically designed for 1.9 liter TDI engines. Each set comes complete with essential pins and rings, ensuring a comprehensive solution for engine rebuilds. It fits the Mk3 Jetta TDI from 1997-1998 equipped with the AHU engine code. For the B4 Passat TDI, it is compatible with the 1996-1997 model years, specifically those with either the AHU or 1Z engine code. The Mk4 generation is also covered, including the Golf TDI (1999-2003), Jetta TDI (1999-2003), Jetta Wagon (2002-2003), and New Beetle TDI (1998-2003), all utilizing the ALH engine code. Important considerations are necessary when installing these pistons, particularly if the engine block, rods, or crankshaft are being replaced. It is crucial to measure piston protrusion at Top Dead Center (TDC) above the block deck. This measurement, which must fall between .91mm and 1.20mm, is imperative for selecting the correct head gasket thickness to achieve the proper compression ratio. Failure to do so can impact engine performance and longevity.
