The Hypertech Speedometer Calibrator 742002 is designed to correct speedometer and odometer readings for vehicles with aftermarket tire sizes (up to 54 inches, application dependent) and/or non-stock rear gear ratios. It also corrects part-throttle shifting. This device offers the speedometer recalibration functions of the Max Energy Programmer without the additional tuning features. It includes a USB cable and software for internet updates and can be upgraded to a Max Energy Power Programmer. The calibrator plugs into the vehicle's diagnostic port, allowing users to select the new tire height and/or gear ratio for accurate reprogramming. It can also read, display, and clear Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs), enabling owners to diagnose and clear "check engine" lights without expensive scanners. The device saves the stock tuning program, allows for customized programming, and can be returned to stock settings for dealership service. It is internet updateable for new vehicle calibrations.
