1-Piece Driveshaft

The East Coast Driveline HD 1-Piece Driveshaft is engineered as a significant upgrade over the stock 2-piece steel driveshaft for 2020-2023 BMW X5 (F95) and X6 (F96) M models equipped with 4.4L or 3.0L engines. It eliminates the factory rubber coupler and hanger bearing, converting the rear CVJ to a heavy-duty flange and U-joint setup. Available options include carbon fiber in 3” x .125” or 3” x .155” wall thickness, or aluminum in 3.5” x .125” wall. Each configuration offers specific critical torque and speed ratings, with the 3.5” x .155” carbon fiber option providing the highest capacity. Installation requires shipping the rear section of the original driveshaft to East Coast Driveline for custom conversion. It is crucial to check for clearance issues after installation, as the larger diameter of these shafts may interfere with surrounding components. The manufacturer notes that while these shafts are balanced, the conversion from a 2-piece to a 1-piece design and the solid aluminum adapters can potentially introduce drivetrain vibrations at certain RPMs, particularly on deceleration. This is considered normal and may vary in severity depending on the alignment of other drivetrain components. Medium threadlocker is recommended and included. This driveshaft is specifically designed for the 2020-2023 BMW X5 M, M Competition, M50i, xDrive50i, and xDrive45e, as well as the 2020-2023 BMW X6 M, M Competition, and M50i models with 4.4L V8 or 3.0L L6 engines. It is intended for off-road and racing use only and is not street legal.
