The Alpine SWT-10S4 is a 10-inch shallow mount truck subwoofer engineered to deliver powerful low-bass performance and ground-shaking output, even in compact enclosures. Its shallow mounting depth of just 4-3/16 inches allows for greater installation flexibility, making it ideal for truck applications where space is limited. The subwoofer is optimized for small enclosure sizes, ensuring great bass performance can fit almost anywhere. Key construction features include a Poly-Mica Dust Cap and Pulp-Kevlar diaphragm for durability and sound quality. The surround is made of polyurethane foam utilizing H.A.M.R. (High-Amplitude Multi-Roll) Surround Technology for increased excursion without sacrificing cone area. Inside, a Conex® spider with reinforced tinsel leads supports a 65mm voice coil wound on a spiral cut aluminum former with high-temp 4-layer SVC winding. The motor structure is FEA-optimized, featuring a dual flare pole vent and airflow back plate, while the high-strength steel frame includes a perimeter venting system with an airflow management system. With a CEA-2031 power rating of 350 Watts and an RMS power handling of 350 Watts (1000 Watts peak), this subwoofer is built for robust performance. It boasts a frequency response from 30Hz to 200Hz and a measured 11mm of X-max, providing significant output and accuracy. The design incorporates Alpine's unique technologies, such as a radial vented VC heat sink for temperature management and an FEA-optimized spider with a pass-through gap design for over 50mm of peak-to-peak excursion.
