The JL Audio 10W3v3-2 is a 10-inch subwoofer engineered to deliver exceptional performance in medium-power audio systems. It combines robust power handling with specific enclosure requirements and impressive excursion capabilities, all while maintaining linearity and reliability through JL Audio's proprietary technologies. This subwoofer incorporates several key JL Audio innovations. Dynamic Motor Analysis (DMA) optimizes the motor structure for reduced distortion and improved transient response, resulting in tight, clean bass. Elevated Frame Cooling delivers cool air to the voice coil, enhancing power handling and sound quality by minimizing thermal shifts. The patented FCAM™ (Floating Cone Attach Method) ensures accurate surround, spider, and voice coil centering, even at high excursions, preventing suspension torquing. Additionally, the Vented Reinforcement Collar (VRC®) strengthens the cone/spider/voice coil junction, improves thermal performance, and incorporates lead-wire strain relief for enhanced reliability. JL Audio's commitment to precision and durability is further evident in the Insert Molded Sub-Assembly, which pre-assemblies spiders, voice coils, and terminals onto a carrier for superior alignment and reliability. The Engineered Lead-Wire System manages lead-wire behavior under extreme excursion without compromising spider linearity, reducing distortion and mechanical noise. The 10W3v3-2 is recommended for use with amplifiers providing 150W to 500W RMS and is optimized for a 0.625 cu. ft. (17.7 L) sealed enclosure or a 1.25 cu. ft. (35.4 L) ported enclosure. It features a customizable trim ring that can be painted to match any installation theme, and optional grille mesh inserts are available separately. The nominal impedance is 2Ω.
