The AudioControl SPK-10S2 Spike Series subwoofer is engineered for robust performance and durability, offering a high-excursion design that moves more air for impressive sound pressure levels and volume capability. Its fiber matrix paper cone is enhanced with a mica coating for improved rigidity and response. The 3-layer, high-temperature voice coil former is built to withstand substantial power, ensuring consistent performance even at high volumes, allowing for heart-pounding bass with minimal distortion. This 10-inch subwoofer boasts a dual damping system for linear bass reproduction and a dual dust cap system that minimizes enclosure compression effects. Its efficient, heavy-duty motor design contributes to its powerful output. The SPK-10S2 handles 500W RMS and 700W max power, with a frequency response range of 20-200 Hz and a 2.5-inch voice coil diameter. It offers an impedance of either 2 or 4 Ohms, providing flexibility for different system setups. The subwoofer has a displacement of 0.0626 cu ft and a mounting depth of 5.32 inches, with a cutout diameter of 9.25 inches. Included with the subwoofer is a removable grille. AudioControl recommends specific enclosure volumes for optimal performance, with a ported enclosure external dimension of 24.00″ W × 13.00″H × 11.25″D and a net internal volume of 1.01 ft³. A sealed enclosure is also an option with external dimensions of 20.00″W × 13.00″H × 11.00″D. The product comes with a 1-year manufacturer warranty.
