1000 Desiccant Air Breather

The BDE-1000 is a desiccant air breather replacement for the Hydac BDE 1000, designed to protect hydraulic and lubrication systems from contamination. This unit effectively dries and filters intake air, preventing moisture from degrading fluids and accelerating oxidation. It offers 1 micron absolute particle filtration and a significant moisture retention capacity of 728 ml, utilizing a specially formulated silica gel as its moisture-absorbing media. The filter media is constructed from polyester and polypropylene. Constructed with a body made of ABS, Nylon, Polypropylene, and Buna, this breather is compatible with mineral oils, bio oils, and diesel fuel. It operates within a temperature range of -20 to 200 degrees Fahrenheit and has a maximum airflow of 25 CFM at 1 PSID. The connection is a 1" Sure-Fit (NPT) with a 2" MNPT mounting adaptor, and its dimensions are 8.6" in height and 5.7" in O.D. width. This desiccant breather is suitable for various applications beyond hydraulics, including industrial gearboxes, power transformers, compressor sumps, and fuel storage tanks. The silica gel beads provide a visual indicator of saturation, changing color from blue or orange (active) to pink or white (saturated), signaling when replacement is needed. It is recommended to replace the breather when the color change reaches about two-thirds of the desiccant bed. Additionally, check the particle filter for dust buildup or noticeable weight increase, especially in dusty environments or for equipment that sits idle between uses. A minimum order quantity of six units applies.
