The Melling 10227 oil pump is a standard volume upgrade designed for Ford 4.6L and 5.4L DOHC 4V engines, including models like the Mustang Cobra. This high-performance pump ensures dependable performance under demanding RPM conditions. Constructed with durability in mind, the 10227 features billet steel rotors for enhanced strength and longevity. The body is made from anodized, hardened aluminum, providing excellent corrosion resistance, while the cover is made of a phosphate-coated cast iron for added robustness. It meets OEM volume and pressure specifications and includes a seal. Each Melling 10227 oil pump undergoes rigorous individual testing for pressure and flow under simulated engine operating conditions, ensuring quality and reliability out of the box. This attention to detail guarantees that the pump will perform as expected once installed in your vehicle. Vehicle applications include the 1995-2002 Lincoln Continental, 2003-2004 Mercury Marauder, 2003-2005 Lincoln Aviator, 1995-1998 Lincoln Mark VIII, and 1996-2004 Ford Mustang. It utilizes a 15/16 inch diameter oil pickup screen and is specifically intended for use with 4.6L DOHC engines.
