Overview

The Melling 10296 LS oil pump is a high volume, standard pressure upgrade for LS engines. It offers an 18% increase in volume compared to the M295 and 10295 oil pumps. The pump features a CNC machined and hardcoat anodized cast aluminum housing and a CNC machined, phosphate-coated cast iron cover. It includes a screw-in relief valve plug with an optional lower stock pressure spring and utilizes a stock bolt-on screen.

The Melling 10296 LS oil pump is designed as a high-volume, high-pressure performance upgrade for LS series engines. It provides an 18% increase in oil volume over M295 and 10295 models, ensuring robust lubrication under demanding conditions. The pump's construction features a durable cast aluminum housing that is CNC machined and hardcoat anodized for enhanced wear resistance. Complementing the housing is a cast iron cover, also CNC machined and phosphate-coated, which further improves pump performance and longevity. Each Melling high-performance oil pump undergoes individual testing for pressure and flow under actual engine operating conditions to guarantee dependable performance. This pump is compatible with all wet sump LS series engines, including Gen III and Gen IV variants such as 4.8L, 5.3L, 5.7L, 6.0L, 6.2L (LS1, LS6, LS2, LS3, LQ4, LQ9, LR4, LM7, L59, LS4). However, it is noted as not compatible with VVT (Variable Valve Timing) and AFM (Active Fuel Management) systems.
