10R80 XPL Pro-Loc Billet Torque Converter

The SunCoast 10R80 XPL Pro-Loc Billet Bolt-Together Torque Converter is manufactured from a solid piece of 7075 T6 billet aluminum plate, offering superior heat treating characteristics compared to round bar construction. This design choice accounts for high inertia and its effects on converter ballooning. It features patent-pending Zero Drag Lock-up technology for constant oil flow across clutch surfaces, extracting heat and improving lifespan, while also reducing parasitic loss for more power to the ground, quicker throttle response, and faster spooling of turbochargers.

The converter's modular clutch basket assembly allows for maximum tunability and quick servicing. The redesigned turbine clearance offers tighter tolerances to reduce slip and improve efficiency, consistency, and the use of two thrust bearings. It also incorporates a SunCoast Pro-Loc XL sprag for increased bearing roller surface and reliability, along with a 3-pass design for individual control of the converter circuit. This torque converter includes provisions for 8 bolt holes to accommodate an SFI billet flexplate and is secured by 16 12-point 5/16” bolts.
