The Rockford Fosgate R2D2-12 is a 12-inch standard subwoofer engineered to deliver robust bass performance for car audio systems. It features a durable mica-injected polypropylene cone and is built with a stamp-cast basket that includes integrated spider venting, a feature typically found in higher-end models, to help keep the motor running cool. This R2 series subwoofer is designed for flexibility, offering a dual 2-ohm voice coil configuration that allows for various wiring options to suit different amplifier setups. It handles a continuous 250 Watts RMS and can handle up to 500 Watts peak power. The voice coil itself is 2 inches (51mm) and utilizes an anodized aluminum former, which acts as a heat sink to dissipate thermal build-up, ensuring sustained performance even under high SPL conditions. Installation is streamlined with a 12 AWG dual compression speaker terminal system and an integrated PVC trim ring for a clean, professional look.
