Show original supplier description

The Alpine R-W12D4 represents the next generation of R-Series subwoofers, engineered for enhanced sound performance and durability. This 12-inch subwoofer features a larger motor structure with double-stacked magnets for increased motor force, delivering deeper bass and tighter control. The Kevlar-reinforced pulp cone ensures long-lasting performance, even at high volumes. Constructed with a polypropylene/ceramic composite dust cap, this subwoofer offers rigidity and internal damping for smooth bass response and reliable heat management. The Dual Voice Coil (DVC) design, complete with configuration jumpers, allows for flexible application in various audio setups. The "EZ-Change" twist-lock grille mounting system simplifies installation and removal of an optional grille (sold separately) for cone protection. Further enhancing its performance is Alpine's High Amplitude Multi-Roll (HAMR) Surround Technology. This advanced rubber surround enables efficient air movement and cooling, allowing for 20mm of total cone excursion. This technology contributes to the subwoofer's incredible accuracy and dynamic range. The R2-W12D4 is compatible with the KTE-12G Grille System, which is sold separately.
