The Rockford Fosgate Prime R2SD4-12 is a 12-inch shallow-mount subwoofer engineered to provide satisfying low-frequency output even when space is limited. Its innovative elevated motor structure significantly reduces the speaker's overall depth, allowing it to fit into more compact enclosures. The stamp-cast basket incorporates spider venting, a feature typically found on deeper subwoofers, which helps to keep the motor cool during demanding use. The R2SD4-12 is optimized for sealed enclosures, offering a sealed box volume of 0.9 cu. ft. (25.4 Liters) and a vented box volume of 1.79 cu. ft. (50.6 Liters). Key features include dual 4-Ohm voice coils for flexible wiring configurations, a 2-inch anodized aluminum voice coil former for superior heat dissipation, and 12 AWG compression terminals. The subwoofer also boasts a linear spider with embedded 16 AWG tinsel leads for enhanced reliability. It comes with a 1-year warranty and is CEA-2031 compliant, ensuring its power handling meets industry standards.
