The DD Audio SL612 is a 12-inch shallow mount subwoofer engineered to deliver powerful bass without requiring extensive space. Its standout feature is the triple-layer shallow body cone, which compresses foam between pulp layers to maintain rigidity and lightness, allowing for suspension travel comparable to full-size subwoofers. This subwoofer boasts a high power handling capacity, rated for 300-600 watts RMS and a peak of 1200 watts. It utilizes a high-temperature 2.5-inch voice coil, a 72oz magnet, and a DD cast aluminum frame, all contributing to its durability and performance. The dual 2-ohm voice coil (D2) configuration offers versatile wiring options for optimized output. Designed with Hi-Def tuning, the SL612 focuses on delivering precise and clear bass reproduction. Its suspension is specifically tuned for performance in sealed enclosures (0.7 - 1.5 cu ft) and small vented enclosures (1.0 - 1.75 cu ft), making it ideal for installations where space is limited, such as under seats or behind rear seats. Key specifications include a resonant frequency (Fs) of 27 Hz, a sensitivity (dBSPL) of 87 dB, and a maximum mechanical excursion (Xmech) of 40mm, with a linear excursion (Xmax) of 14.5mm.
