The ARP 12mm Camshaft Sprocket Bolt is engineered for superior performance and reliability in Ford 4.6L and 5.4L modular engines. Constructed from robust 8740 Chromoly with a durable black oxide finish, this bolt boasts a 190,000 psi tensile strength, classifying it as a Pro Series component. Its design offers increased preload clamping force, ensuring a positive timing gear register crucial for camshaft synchronization. The high material strength is specifically intended to overcome valvetrain harmonics and stress, making it suitable for high-performance applications. The 12-point head design facilitates easier installation and removal compared to standard bolts. This cam bolt is recommended for use with aftermarket camshafts from manufacturers such as MHS, Bullet, Comp Cams, and Crower. For 4.6L/5.4L 2V engines, two bolts are required, while 4.6L/5.4L 4V engines require four. It fits 1996-1998 Ford 4.6L 2V and 4V engines with stock camshafts, and also fits a wide range of Ford vehicles including the Cougar, Crown Victoria, E-series, Expedition, Explorer, F-150, F-250, Grand Marquis, Lobo, Mustang, and Thunderbird from various model years. Please note, this bolt will not fit 3-valve engines.
