1310 Super Flex U-joint

The Tom Wood's Custom Driveshafts 1310 Super Flex U-joint is engineered to solve driveshaft binding problems, particularly in situations involving steep driveshaft angles, full axle droop, and spring wrap. This U-joint features a unique offset cross design that sets the mating yokes further apart compared to conventional joints. This specialized design allows for approximately 10 degrees more flexibility, which can be crucial for off-road applications with significant lift or suspension modifications like buggy springs or revolver shackles. With a standard 30-inch driveshaft, this increased flexibility translates to over 5 inches of additional axle droop before binding occurs. Testing has shown that the driveshaft can flex up to 40 degrees with this joint installed in standard yokes, and up to 45 degrees with minor yoke modification. While the Super-Flex U-joint is not a universal solution, it specifically targets binding issues encountered in demanding off-road scenarios, such as those found with front driveshafts on heavily modified vehicles.
