1350 Series Carbon Fiber Slip Shaft

The Gulf Coast 1350 Series Carbon Fiber Slip Shaft is engineered for the 2020 and up Ford Explorer ST 3.0L TT AWD models, designed to handle significant power output. This performance-grade driveshaft features a 3-inch inside diameter by .155-inch wall carbon fiber tubing with an outside diameter of 3.31 inches, providing exceptional strength and torsional rigidity with 14 layers of multi-directional weave. Key components include a SONNAX 3-bolt aluminum adapter flange for a direct bolt-in installation at the transmission, eliminating the need for adapters and the OEM rubber coupler. The driveshaft is equipped with NEAPCO 1350 Performance Series solid cross U-joints, known for their reliability and suitability for racing applications. The yoke and spline sleeve assembly is constructed from lightweight, durable 2024 aluminum, offering superior strength compared to standard 6061 aluminum. Each Gulf Coast driveshaft undergoes rigorous testing; it is high-speed balanced on a Coetz Balancer, with a balance verification sheet provided. Furthermore, every carbon fiber assembly is in-house torque-tested to ensure a secure bond and dependable performance under high-torque conditions, a service offered by only a few U.S. shops. This commitment to quality ensures a smooth operation and proven durability. Installation requires removing the OEM rubber/guibo coupler at the transmission end. While the end yoke slips onto the differential spline, removal of the OEM CV from the rear end spline might be challenging and may require a special tool. Gulf Coast Driveshaft recommends professional installation by a reputable race shop or garage. Maintain adequate clearance around the driveshaft tunnel, exhaust, and gas tank shield to prevent contact. Avoid exposing bonded areas to continuous heat above 300°F, as heat exposure or clearance interference issues are not covered under warranty.
