The RedHead Steering Gears 2864L-LM-3T is a new steering gear box engineered for 1997-2002 GM Pickup Trucks and Suburbans. This unit offers a precise 15:1 ratio, completing a turn in just 3 rotations for responsive steering. It is proudly built in the USA and backed by a 12-month warranty. The housings are meticulously machined and fitted with needle bearings, while shafts are flame sprayed or replaced as needed. New control valves are installed on applicable units, and the worm and piston assembly is custom-fit with oversized ball bearings. Sector shafts are straightened and trued on a lathe, and the sealing surface is polished to prevent leaks. It features a small input with a 25-spline and flat, an output with 4 master splines and 32 splines, and O-ring fittings. This steering gear box is compatible with both 2WD and 4WD models, including various configurations like Chassis Cab, Crew Cab, and Extended Cab. It is also suitable for specific models such as C2500, C3500, K2500, K3500, Sierra, Suburban, Tahoe, and Yukon within the specified model years. An optional 4-turn option is available for off-roading applications or vehicles with tires at least 37 inches in diameter, providing more leverage. Additionally, buyers can opt for two extra pre-tapped ports for aftermarket hydraulic ram assist steering setups.
