The Sundown Audio Z-15 V.3 D2 subwoofer, part of the third-generation Z series, is engineered to deliver exceptional low distortion and high output, building on years of customer experience and SPL competition success. This driver boasts a robust 1500-watt RMS power handling capability. Constructed with an 8-layer flat-wound aluminum voice coil on a black aluminum former, the Z v.3 also incorporates dual faraday rings. While previously a top-of-the-line model, the Z v.3 line remains available for those seeking a more traditional driver with a shallower mounting depth compared to newer series like the X and Z v.4. This 15-inch model, along with the 12-inch and 18-inch variants, are still in full production, though the 10-inch has been discontinued. The Z v.3 series has a strong reputation in the competition scene, having secured numerous world championships in various SPL formats, including bass race and bass boxing, highlighting its extreme excursion and SPL capabilities.
