The Kirkey 16 Series Economy Drag Seat is an entry-level aluminum seat specifically engineered for drag racing applications, particularly for low horsepower cars on smaller tracks. Constructed from robust, MIG-welded .125-inch thick 5052 grade aluminum, this seat prioritizes safety and durability without compromising on quality, a hallmark of Kirkey Racing Fabrication. This seat offers a 20-degree layback angle to enhance driver comfort during races. Its design includes a lowered side profile to accommodate lap belts, and a contoured seat bottom that provides crucial support for the lower back and hips. The rib supports are strategically cut back to facilitate easier entry and shifting, while standard openings are present for both shoulder and submarine belts. For added strength and rigidity, a progressive rib bead is incorporated, and the headrest area is reinforced with an offset aluminum extrusion. A rubber molding lines the perimeter of the seat for added protection. It is important to note that seat covers are sold separately, allowing for customization to suit individual preferences. Additionally, seat mounts are not included and must be purchased separately.
