The Mishimoto racing thermostat is engineered to enhance cooling efficiency and reliability for the high-revving rotary engine of the Mazda RX8. Designed specifically for the 2004-2010 Mazda RX8 models, this thermostat is an ideal upgrade to combat overheating, which can lead to track day disruptions or engine damage. Compared to a standard thermostat that opens at 180°F, the Mishimoto racing thermostat opens at a lower temperature of 169°F. This earlier activation allows coolant to circulate through the engine sooner, effectively reducing and maintaining lower operating temperatures. This promotes greater overall cooling efficiency and can help extend the life of your engine. Installation is rated as easy, making it a straightforward upgrade for many owners.
