Overview

The Hushmat 580102 is a custom-fit firewall sound deadening and thermal insulation kit designed to significantly reduce heat and noise in the 1948-1955 Porsche 356. It covers 100 percent of the vehicle's firewall, from the back of the instrument panel to behind the pedals. This kit utilizes a proprietary butyl material with an aluminum backing, providing effective thermal insulation and sound deadening capabilities. It is engineered to withstand temperatures ranging from -30 degrees to over 550 degrees Fahrenheit. The self-adhesive peel and stick design ensures straightforward installation without the need for additional tools or adhesives. The lightweight and flexible material is less than 1/8 inch thick and weighs less than 1/2 pound per square foot, making it easy to trim for a precise fit. Hushmat claims their product reduces interior temperatures by over 40 percent and noise by over 50 percent, thereby reducing the load on the HVAC system and improving overall driving comfort. It is manufactured in the USA and is automotive OEM specified and approved.
