Overview

The Kenne Bell TS1000-GT40 is a 2.1L supercharger kit for 1986-1993 Ford Mustang 5.0L Fox Body vehicles. This kit provides a significant increase in horsepower and torque across the entire RPM range, offering instant full boost without lag or drop-off. It features a billet aluminum supercharger, fits under the stock hood, and runs whisper quiet.

Designed for easy installation, the kit replaces the upper intake manifold and is belt-driven off the stock 6-rib belt. It produces a cooler air charge, eliminating the need for an intercooler, and requires less horsepower to drive compared to Roots-style systems. The manifold and supercharger come pre-assembled and tested, with everything needed for installation included.

The Kenne Bell TS1000-GT40 is a comprehensive 2.1L supercharger kit engineered to deliver substantial performance gains for 1986-1993 Ford Mustang 5.0L Fox Body models. This kit is designed to provide an "INSTANT FULL BOOST / HORSEPOWER TORQUE at ANY rpm – 2000 up," offering a significant increase in power and torque everywhere in the powerband, without the boost lag associated with centrifugal systems or turbos. The system features a billet aluminum supercharger and fits discreetly under the stock hood, maintaining a factory appearance while operating whisper quiet. Installation is straightforward, as the kit replaces the upper intake manifold and utilizes the stock 6-rib belt for drive power. The supercharger unit is pre-assembled and tested, and the kit includes all necessary components for a complete installation, requiring no other engine or transmission modifications. A key benefit is the cooler air charge temperature, 60°-80° cooler than stock, which negates the need for an intercooler and requires 10-16 less HP to drive than Roots-style superchargers. Standard pulley sizes offer 6 psi of boost, with optional pulleys available for boost levels over 9 psi. This supercharger kit is specifically designed to fit the GT-40 lower intake. It is compatible with original 1993 Cobra or original over-the-counter GT-40 setups. Modifications can be made to fit the Explorer lower intake; contact Kenne Bell for details.
