Overview

The Dobinsons IMS20-50709 is a front monotube shock absorber designed for enhanced off-road performance. It features a larger 50/60mm piston compared to OEM shocks, which significantly increases the working area, reducing internal pressures, risk of cavitation, and heat generation. This larger piston also allows for more than 10 times the flow of an OEM piston, leading to better damping control, especially at high speeds.

Constructed with a 2.2" (56mm) heavy-duty shock body, this shock absorber offers increased oil volume and cooling efficiency. It incorporates a race-inspired, CNC-machined billet aluminum piston and utilizes a 3mm thick DOM body tubing honed to tight tolerances. The shock is finished with an EDP coating for corrosion resistance.

The Dobinsons IMS20-50709 front monotube shock absorber is engineered to provide superior performance and durability for serious off-roaders and overlanders. It distinguishes itself from standard OEM shocks with its significantly larger 50/60mm internal floating piston (IFP). This oversized piston boasts approximately four times the working area of typical OEM pistons, drastically reducing internal operating pressures and minimizing the risk of cavitation and heat buildup. This design translates to a more consistent and reliable damping performance, even under extreme conditions. Beyond its advanced piston design, the IMS20-50709 features a robust 2.2" (56mm) heavy-duty shock body, which increases oil volume and enhances cooling efficiency. The shock body is constructed from 3mm thick DOM tubing, precision-honed for strength and durability. The entire assembly is protected by an EDP coating, ensuring excellent corrosion resistance and long-term durability. This shock absorber is designed as a direct, bolt-on replacement for straightforward installation. The advanced damping technology is meticulously tuned to deliver a balance of comfort, control, and off-road capability, ensuring reliable performance whether navigating washboard trails, towing heavy loads, or cruising at highway speeds.
