Description

The Dobinsons IMS 2.2″ Monotube Strut is designed for demanding off-road applications, offering superior performance and durability for serious off-roaders and overlanders. Its robust construction and advanced internal design ensure consistent damping and comfort even in extreme conditions, making it suitable for washboard trails, towing, and general highway driving. Constructed with a heavy-duty 2.2″ (56mm) shock body, this strut increases oil volume and enhances cooling efficiency. The monotube IFP design effectively separates oil and gas, preventing aeration and ensuring consistent damping performance. It features a high-flow CNC-machined race piston with a 50mm bore for superior off-road handling and a 3mm thick DOM body tubing, honed to tight tolerances for maximum strength and reliability. For enhanced longevity and ease of maintenance, the Dobinsons IMS Monotube Strut is fully re-buildable and re-valvable. It also features EDP coating for excellent corrosion resistance and long-term durability. This strut is engineered as a direct, bolt-on replacement, simplifying installation. Important considerations for installation include setting the coil seat at 195mm/7.65” from the strut bushing eye. Incorrect setup can lead to damage to the shocks, springs, and vehicle. These struts do not include coil springs or top mounts; assembly by a professional is highly recommended.
