2.3L Mazdaspeed 6 Oil Catch Can Kit

During everyday engine operation, blow-by gases and oil vapor from the engine's rotating assembly pass through the PCV valve and are routed into the intake. Before reaching the cylinders, some oil mist and contaminants adhere to the backside of hot intake valves. Over time, a thick crust forms, significantly reducing performance and potentially leading to costly cleaning or repair. This is particularly problematic for the 2.3L motor because no fuel passes over the valves to keep them clean, making the JBR Oil Catch Can a must-have for the Mazdaspeed 6. As PCV gases enter the JBR Oil Catch Can, a pressure drop causes oil to fall out of suspension. The gas then flows through a series of three perforated plates, where the capillary effect captures the oil while only gas reaches the outlet. The JBR Oil Catch Can has a capacity of 350ml, and checking the oil level is made simple with the integrated dipstick. The included drain valve and hose allow for easy removal of accumulated oil. The kit is constructed entirely from 6061 billet aluminum and designed in the USA, featuring pre-cut oil and fuel-resistant hoses. An optional check valve kit is available to address issues with the OEM PCV valve not completely closing under boost. This check valve is oil, fuel, and chemical resistant, constructed from brass with a low crack pressure, and is properly sized for optimal flow. For higher boosting applications or those seeking maximum performance, the check valve is recommended to prevent crankcase pressure buildup and improve turbo spool times.
