The Flyin Miata FOX suspension represents a collaboration between Flyin' Miata and FOX, a company with 40 years of suspension expertise and success in various motorsports. The development process involved detailed measurements of the suspension's full range and extensive testing with multiple Miatas and engineers to fine-tune the valving for optimal performance. The adjustment mechanism focuses on low-speed rebound damping, allowing drivers to easily transition between a comfortable street setting and a responsive track setup. Key features include a monotube shock design with 5 inches of shaft travel, which contributes to both track capability and daily ride comfort. The shocks are also 40% lighter than typical aftermarket units and are built in the USA. The coilover design incorporates several thoughtful details, such as a high-density plastic ring acting as a bearing for the springs, internal disc-ground washers for accuracy, and Teflon-lined lower bearings that eliminate the need for greasing. The standard spring rates are 550 lb/in front and 450 lb/in rear, suitable for mixed-use, though the valving can accommodate up to 900 lb front springs. Helper springs are included to keep the main springs seated at full droop, aiding in maintenance. For those seeking a lower ride height, alternative spring lengths or the removal of helper springs may be options, though potential interference with V8Roadster lower control arms may require some grinding. The kit includes four shocks, bump stops, front and rear springs (unless specified otherwise), and new front and rear mounts, with no parts reused from the original suspension. The shock bodies feature a Type III hard anodizing treatment for maximum durability. A 1-year limited warranty is provided for defects in materials and workmanship.
