2.5 TFSI EVO Turbocharger Inlet System (Cast Inlet Only) Fits Audi RS3 17-20, TT RS Quattro 18-22 APR

The APR Turbocharger Inlet System is designed to significantly enhance the airflow to the turbocharger, outperforming stock components by up to 45%. This is achieved by replacing the highly restrictive factory turbocharger inlet pipe. The system features a substantial 4-inch carbon fiber inlet tube that connects to either the factory airbox or a forthcoming APR Intake System. It incorporates a precisely engineered 4-inch cast aluminum inlet with an organic shape, optimized to maintain the largest possible cross-sectional area as it funnels air directly to the turbocharger's compressor cover. This design is crucial for maximizing airflow and is superior to continuously tapering designs.

The system includes interlocking adapter rings for a port-matched fit to the turbocharger, with additional larger adapter rings available separately to support hybrid turbocharger upgrades. To protect the component from engine heat, a thick stainless steel heat shield is incorporated. An external stainless PCV pipe ensures proper crankcase ventilation without compromising the inlet's optimized design.

Performance metrics demonstrate impressive gains: the inlet system alone can achieve a staggering 710 CFM (Cubic Feet per Minute) with the stock turbocharger adapter, marking a 45% improvement over the factory part. When paired with an upcoming APR intake system, airflow can reach 690 CFM, representing a 60% improvement over the entire stock intake system. Even when used with the factory airbox, filter, and frontal scoop, the system delivers 575 CFM, which is 34% better than the stock system and 17% better than the stock inlet pipe by itself with an ideal entrance.

Dyno testing, conducted with an APR Stage 1+ ECU and the factory intercooler, revealed gains of up to 14 WHP (Wheel Horsepower) and 11 WFT-LBS (Wheel Foot-Pounds) of torque from the APR Inlet System alone. These gains further increased to 37 WHP and 29 WFT-LBS when combined with an APR intercooler. The system's engineering reduces the turbocharger's pressure ratio, leading to improved efficiency, decreased pre-turbine backpressure (EMAP), lower turbocharger shaft speed, and reduced compressor discharge temperature. This allows for higher boost pressure levels, resulting in more horsepower and torque while promoting cooler and more efficient engine operation.
