2.9L Intercooled Twin-Screw Supercharger System

The Whipple WK-1000B is a comprehensive 2.9L intercooled twin-screw supercharger system, building on Whipple's legacy as pioneers in positive displacement supercharging since 1987. Engineered for the 2010-2012 Chevrolet Camaro SS, this system boasts Whipple's massive oversized air-to-water intercooler for superior cooling and the W175ax (2.9-liter) supercharger, which achieves 99% volumetric efficiency for industry-leading power potential. It integrates a unique front-feed design and an advanced intercooled bypass system that enhances acceleration and maintains excellent fuel economy during cruising with minimal parasitic loss. The kit includes Siemens Deka 63 lb/hr fuel injectors, an aluminum high-flow intake manifold, and a Whipple Power Flash Programmer from Superchips for factory ECU recalibration, ensuring optimized performance. Additionally, it features the MSD Fuel Pump Booster, which provides variable voltage as needed for fuel demand, unlike simpler on/off designs. The system produces 8.7 psi of boost, utilizing 91 octane fuel and stock exhaust and RPM limits. Rear wheel SAE power measurements on a Dynojet chassis dynamometer indicate an output of 578 HP and 524 lb-ft of torque, representing a significant gain of 61% in horsepower and 50% in torque over stock configurations. These figures are rear-wheel measurements and can be converted to engine horsepower by dividing by 0.85. Supported vehicles include the 2010, 2011, and 2012 Chevrolet Camaro SS models equipped with the 6.2L engine. Note that for 2014 models, modifications to the hood vent or the use of a Whipple vent may be required to ensure clearance.
