This Bully Dog Power Pup Downloader Tuner is designed for gasoline-powered GM trucks. It fits '99-'06 full-size GM vehicles with 4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L, and 8.1L engines. The downloader offers two engine tunes: Regular Tune (for 85 or 87 octane gasoline, suitable for everyday driving and towing, with recommended increases in shift firmness and points) and Premium Engine Tune (for 91 or 93 octane gasoline, suitable for everyday driving and off-highway racing, with recommended increases in shift firmness and points). Additional features include Transmission Tuning, Transmission Shift Points, Speed Limiter Adjustment, and Reading/Erasing Diagnostic Trouble Codes. All operations are performed inside the cab via the OBDII port. It is important to keep the downloader in the vehicle to change power programs or check/erase DTCs, and to remove the power program before vehicle service.
